Latest reviews of Looking Up Devotional Journal by Beth Moore app for iPhone and iPad

Content good. Functionality lacking
This devotional has what I expected: daily verses and subjects of daily devotional. An area for prayer and the ADDED bonus of prompts to use for reflection related to what you just read. I really love that. However, transitioning from screens to screen is a little buggy. Sometime the buttons you click on still show when to move to the next screen. And theres no way to get rid of it. Needed feature, to synced from device to device. Theres not login (which can be a bonus for some) so Im not able to sync my ipad (I usually use for daily quiet time) with my phone (when Im out and need to reference what I wrong or prayed for in the morning) Im still using it, but it could be so much better. :-)
Not worth the money
The message of this app is thought provoking, like Beth Moore always is. However there is not enough content to this app to make it worth the money! There is hardly anything there, you are paying for a name and that is not worth it.
Totally worth the money
I was a little weary of purchasing this app due to the prior reviews, but I really need some God love right now and I know Beth Moore will deliver. I think this is a sufficient amount of daily work for the price. Here is what you get, you can decide for yourselves if its worth it to you. There are 104 daily readings from Beth, after each reading you move to a little prompting "homework" from Beth. Its Beth Moore, so you know you need your Bible, and writing implements. The app includes the pen and paper within each reading, very handy. Then she concludes each day with a prayer. Its a good 15-20 minutes per day if you really want to dig deep. So please, I mean no offense to prior posts, just my very humble opinion. Also, bias alert, I absolutely adore this woman, and her studies are saving my sanity this year. My husband had to move to the other end of the country for work over a year ago and I only see him on holidays, so among the other issues we are all struggling with, life is just difficult right now. Currently doing Patriarchs using the individual downloads (theyre fabulous but also a pricey way to do them), if you can get your group to do them, its far more economical, my group of women are a bit homework adverse so I dont mind.
Needs Work but Glad I Got It
I just finished 104 of 104 devos. I used it as a springboard into Scripture. Did one or more devos a day, always had it with me for when waiting for an appt or when needed to stop & get with God. This was exactly what I needed when I need it. I hope the app will add the ability to export the journaling. That is why I gave a 3 & not a 4. This isnt quite as dense in material as most Beth Moore studies. Thus as far as what you pay, I think there is a value issue compared to buying a book or a study guide. That is again why not rated higher. But the content is RICH. Many small servings of very rich stuff the The Lord has used to seriously change how I see him, me, life, etc. I have been doing Bible Study for 13 years and plenty of more intense Beth Moore studies -- but I can honestly say I met The Lord here much more intimately than in any other study Ive done. I like the material in the form of an interactive journaling app -- it suits me, so would love more ... But with the ability to export my notes.
WARNING: Good content, but overpriced and under featured
Content is always good. Moore nicely paraphrases encouraging ideas, but I would like the texts either embedded as popups in the app or hyperlinked. This is way, way too expensive for what it is… Maybe a 99 cent app? Also the color scheme doesnt provide enough contrast to read and use this clearly. Needs lots of refinement. I hope there will be updates, and will adjust my review accordingly.
